On this page

A coffee bar with a mini fridge is a coffee station with a compact refrigerator next to it, under it or built into its cabinet, so milk, creamer and cold brew sit within arm’s reach of the machine. The setup that works is a fridge with the air space its manual asks for, and that one number decides almost everything else.

This guide covers 10 coffee bar with mini fridge ideas, cabinets with fridge space and with a fridge included, a size table that runs real fridge sizes against real cabinet bays, where the fridge should go, small, corner and bedroom setups, carts and stands, a DIY build and what to keep inside. It’s part of our coffee bar furniture series.

How I picked: these are research-based picks, not hands-on tests. I compared Amazon listings for overall size, fridge bay size and outlets on October 24, 2026, and read the clearance pages in each fridge’s manual.

Why add a mini fridge to your coffee bar?

A mini fridge turns a coffee bar into a full drinks station: milk, creamer and cold brew stay cold right where you brew, so you stop walking to the kitchen fridge for every latte. Four reasons people add one:

  • Milk drinks. Lattes and cappuccinos need cold milk next to the steam wand.
  • Cold brew and iced coffee. A 1-quart Takeya pitcher steeps overnight in the fridge and pours at the bar.
  • Guests. A coffee bar in a dining room, office or basement works on its own.
  • Bedrooms and offices. Morning coffee without leaving the room.

The trade-offs are heat, noise and power. A compact fridge pushes heat out of its walls; Midea’s manual for its 3.1 cu ft model warns that the outside can run about 30°F warmer than the room. That heat needs somewhere to go.

Coffee bar with mini fridge ideas

These 10 ideas pair a real fridge or cabinet with a coffee setup. Sizes come from the Amazon listings and clearances from each fridge’s manual.

1. A fridge standing next to the coffee cabinet

Dark wood cabinet coffee station with open shelves standing next to a small retro orange fridge

Standing the fridge beside the cabinet skips the bay math. The fridge gets air on all sides, and the cabinet top stays free for the machine and mugs.

2. A coffee corner next to the kitchen fridge

Small kitchen corner with a white fridge, a pink microwave on top and a kettle on the counter beside it

The cheapest coffee bar with a fridge uses the one you have. Put the kettle, mugs and canisters on the counter right beside the kitchen fridge, so the milk is one step away.

3. Long cabinet with a fridge bay and outlets

The Unikito cabinet is 47.2 inches wide with a 20.8 × 19.7 × 34.6 inch bay, a solid wood top and 3 outlets plus 2 USB ports. The machine and grinder go on top; the fridge goes in the center bay.

4. White cabinet with a vented fridge bay

The GDLF cabinet adds pre-cut vent holes to its 19.7 × 19.9 × 34.7 inch bay, the only listing here that mentions fridge airflow. Pair it with a narrow cube fridge and pull the cabinet off the wall so the vents can breathe.

5. Farmhouse barn-door coffee bar with a fridge

The Lamtor cabinet hides storage behind sliding barn doors and has the deepest bay here at 20.9 inches. Its 31.7-inch bay height suits a cube fridge, not a tall one with a freezer.

6. Small fluted cabinet for a 36-inch wall

At 33.1 inches wide, the UANRBOA cabinet fits a short wall and still has a 19.5 × 19.2 × 34.4 inch fridge opening, 2 outlets, a USB port and a USB-C port.

7. Fridge-included cabinet for no measuring

The Aauro Home cabinet ships with a 92-liter fridge (17 × 15 × 28 inches) already sized to its bay, with an open-slot airflow design. No fridge to pick, no bay math.

Shop the fridge-included coffee bar

8. Built-in coffee bar with a front-vent fridge

A 15-inch front-vent beverage fridge slides into a run of kitchen base cabinets like a dishwasher. The HCK model vents from its kick plate and asks for only 1.2 inches at the back, 0.4 inch per side and 0.6 inch on top.

9. Rolling fridge stand beside a coffee cart

Lift a cube fridge to counter height on a rolling stand and park it next to a coffee cart. A Frigidaire EFR176 (18.5 inches tall) on the 17.3-inch HOOBRO stand tops out at 35.8 inches.

Shop the fridge stand and cart

10. Tall fridge with freezer at the end of the counter

The Midea 3.1 cu ft fridge with freezer is 32.95 inches tall, about 3 inches under a 36-inch counter. Stand it at the end of the run so its top lines up with the counter and its freezer holds ice for iced coffee.

Coffee bar cabinets with mini fridge space

A coffee bar cabinet with mini fridge space is a sideboard-style cabinet with an open bay, about 20 inches wide and 34 inches tall, sized for a compact fridge you buy separately. Most add drawers, doors and a built-in outlet strip.

The 6 cabinets below are the ones whose listings give a bay size, plus the GAOMON, which doesn’t. Sizes are from each Amazon listing, checked October 24, 2026.

Coffee bar cabinets with a built-in or included fridge

A coffee bar cabinet with a built-in fridge is a cabinet sold together with a fridge that the maker sized and vented for its bay, so there’s no bay math to do. The trade-off is that the fridge is usually small and you can’t swap in a bigger one later.

The Aauro Home cabinet is 31.5 × 17.1 × 32.7 inches and comes with a 92-liter fridge measuring 17 × 15 × 28 inches, a thermostat knob from 1 to 7, a pull-out drawer and a storage cabinet. Its listing describes an open-slot design for airflow.

Other fridge-included cabinets on Amazon lean toward wine storage, with racks and glass holders. If coffee is the goal, look for one with a drawer and a solid top for the machine, and check how the fridge vents.

A true built-in uses a front-vent beverage fridge in a run of base cabinets. The HCK 15-inch fridge is 14.88 × 23.62 × 33.97 inches and vents through the front, so it’s made to sit under a counter with almost no gap.

What size coffee bar cabinet fits a mini fridge?

A cabinet fits a mini fridge when the bay is at least as big as the fridge plus the clearances in the fridge’s manual on every side. Cabinet listings say “fits most mini fridges”, but the manuals tell a stricter story.

The table below runs 5 real fridges against the 5 published bays in this guide. Fridge sizes are from the Amazon listings; clearances from each manual.

Mini fridge size plus manual clearance compared with cabinet fridge bays
FridgeSize (W × D × H)Manual clearanceSpace it needs (W × D)Fits a bay in this guide?

Midea WHD-113FB1, 3.1 cu ft18.5 × 19.37 × 32.95 in3 in sides, 4 in back24.5 × 23.4 inNo
HCK BC-90 15 in, front vent14.88 × 23.62 × 33.97 in0.4 in sides, 1.2 in back, 0.6 in top15.7 × 24.8 inNo (too deep), but fits a 15 in built-in base cabinet gap

On paper, none of the freestanding compact fridges here meets its own manual’s clearances inside a closed 20-inch bay. That doesn’t mean a fridge won’t run in one; it means it runs warmer than its maker planned. Four ways to make the bay work:

  • Open the back. If the bay has no back panel, pull the cabinet 3 to 4 inches off the wall so rear heat escapes, the way GDLF’s pre-cut vents intend.
  • Read side clearance closely. BLACK+DECKER lists only a 2-inch back gap for the BCRK17B but says it isn’t designed for recessed installation, so treat a closed bay as off-limits for it.
  • Choose front-vent. A built-in beverage fridge like the HCK vents through its kick plate and needs only fractions of an inch at the sides.
  • Buy them together. A fridge-included cabinet comes already matched.

Do the subtraction for your own pair. VEVOR’s bay is 20.5 × 19.9 × 34.8 inches; with Frigidaire’s general compact rule (3 inches at the sides and top, 4 at the back), the fridge can be up to 14.5 inches wide, 15.9 inches deep and 31.8 inches tall.

Where to put the fridge: next to, under or below the coffee bar

The best spot for a coffee bar fridge is next to the bar, because every side gets air and the cabinet top stays free. Under-counter and in-cabinet spots look tidier but need a fridge built for them.

  • Next to the bar: any freestanding fridge works. A 32.95-inch Midea 3.1 cu ft fridge beside a 36-inch counter sits 3 inches lower, close enough to read as one run. Leave its side clearance (3 inches for that Midea) between fridge and cabinet.
  • Under the counter: only with a front-vent fridge or an open back. A standard 36-inch counter with a 1.5-inch top leaves about 34.5 inches of height; the HCK fridge needs 34.57 inches with its 0.6-inch top gap, so plan the opening at 35 inches or lower its feet.
  • Below in a cabinet bay: a cube fridge about 18 to 19 inches tall in an open-back bay, with the cabinet pulled off the wall.
  • Next to the kitchen fridge: the zero-cost option; build the coffee bar on the counter beside it.

Power matters in every spot. Midea’s manual for its 3.1 cu ft model asks for a dedicated, grounded 115-volt, 15-amp outlet and no extension cord or adapter. A cabinet’s built-in outlet strip runs on its own cord, so plug a fridge like that straight into the wall and use the cabinet outlets for phones and small appliances.

Small, corner and bedroom coffee bars with a mini fridge

A small coffee bar with a mini fridge needs about 33 to 40 inches of wall for a cabinet with a bay, or about 20 inches for a fridge on a stand. Pick a cube fridge under 20 inches tall and keep the machine small.

  • Small: the 33.1-inch UANRBOA cabinet or the 31.5-inch Aauro fridge-included cabinet, with a 4.5-inch-wide K-Mini on top.
  • Corner: stand the fridge in the corner with its hinge side to the wall, so the door opens toward the coffee bar. A reversible door, like the ones on the Midea and BLACK+DECKER fridges, lets you choose.
  • Bedroom: a cube fridge on a rolling stand beside a dresser. Midea lists the WHS-65LB1 at under 42 dB, and a retro EFR176 reads as decor.

In a bedroom, keep the fridge’s clearance and keep the coffee maker away from fabric. Our coffee bar cart guide has small-space carts that pair with a fridge stand, and the coffee bar shelves guide puts mugs on the wall above.

Coffee carts and tables with mini fridge space

A coffee cart rarely holds a fridge itself, because cart shelves are 11.5 to 18 inches deep and compact fridges are 16 to 19.4 inches deep. A 32.6-pound Midea 1.6 cu ft fridge would hang off a 12-inch cart shelf by almost 6 inches.

Two setups work better:

  • Fridge on its own stand. The HOOBRO stand is 19.7 × 19.7 × 17.3 inches with a wood top rated for 200 pounds, braking wheels and a basket for pods.
  • Cart beside the fridge. Roll a coffee cart next to it, with the machine on the cart and the fridge on the stand.

A coffee bar table with a lower shelf can also hold a cube fridge if the shelf is at least 20 inches deep and the fridge has open air on its sides.

How to make a DIY coffee bar with a mini fridge

To make a DIY coffee bar with a mini fridge, build the counter around the fridge’s size plus its clearance, leave the fridge’s back open to the room, and give it its own wall outlet. Five steps:

  1. Pick the fridge first. Write down its width, depth and height and the clearances on its manual’s installation page.
  2. Size the opening. Width = fridge + side clearance on both sides; height = fridge + top clearance; depth = fridge + back clearance. For a Midea 3.1 cu ft fridge that’s 24.5 inches wide and 23.4 inches deep.
  3. Build the base. Use two base cabinets or a shelving unit on each side of the opening and a 36-inch-high top. Don’t put a back panel behind the fridge.
  4. Vent and power. Leave the back open or drill a row of vent holes, and run the fridge cord to a wall outlet, not the strip that powers the coffee maker.
  5. Level it. Frigidaire’s and Midea’s manuals both ask for a level floor so the door seals; use the leveling legs.

Want a built-in look with less work? Leave a 15.75-inch gap in a run of base cabinets for a 15-inch front-vent fridge like the HCK.

What to keep in a coffee bar fridge (creamer, milk, cold brew)

Keep milk, creamer and cold brew in a coffee bar fridge, at 40°F or below, which is the FDA’s recommended refrigerator temperature. A cube fridge of 1.6 to 1.7 cubic feet holds a week of coffee add-ins for most households.

  • Milk and half-and-half: the door rack on the Midea WHS-65LB1 and Frigidaire EFR176 takes a 2-liter bottle.
  • Creamer: liquid creamers, oat and almond milk once opened. Follow the “use within” date on the carton.
  • Cold brew: a 1-quart Takeya pitcher is 9.5 inches tall, short enough for a cube fridge shelf.
  • Toppings: whipped cream and cold foam bases.
  • Ice: only in a fridge with a real freezer, like the Midea 3.1 cu ft model. Cube fridges have a chiller box, not a freezer.

Is a coffee bar with a mini fridge worth it?

A coffee bar with a mini fridge is worth it when you drink milk coffees or cold brew every day and your coffee bar sits away from the kitchen fridge. It saves the walk and keeps the add-ins next to the machine.

Skip it if your coffee bar is already beside the kitchen fridge or you drink black coffee. A fridge adds cost, heat and a cord to plan around.

Measure 3 things before you buy: the wall, the fridge with its manual’s clearance, and the distance to a wall outlet. Then pick the cabinet. Our coffee bar cabinet guide covers cabinet sizes and the clearance above your machine, the countertop coffee station guide covers counter layouts, and the coffee station ideas and coffee bar ideas show more setups. Frequently asked questions

What size mini fridge fits in a coffee bar cabinet?

Subtract the clearances in your fridge's manual from the bay size. The fridge bays in this guide run 19.5 to 20.8 inches wide and 19.2 to 20.9 inches deep. With 3 inches per side and 4 at the back, a 20.5-inch-wide, 19.9-inch-deep bay leaves room for a fridge only 14.5 inches wide and 15.9 inches deep.

Do mini fridges need ventilation in a cabinet?

Yes. Compact fridges push heat out through their back and sides, and their manuals ask for space: BLACK+DECKER asks for 2 inches at the back of the BCRK17B, Midea asks for 3 to 4 inches around its 3.1 cu ft model, and Frigidaire asks for 5 inches around the EFR176. Leave the back of the bay open or pick a front-vent fridge.

Can I plug a mini fridge into a coffee bar cabinet's outlet?

Check the fridge manual first. Midea's manual for its 3.1 cu ft compact fridge asks for a dedicated grounded outlet and no extension cord or adapter. A cabinet's built-in outlet runs on its own cord like an extension, so plug the fridge into the wall and use the cabinet outlets for chargers and small items.

What is the difference between fridge space and a built-in fridge?

A cabinet with fridge space has an empty bay and you supply the fridge. A cabinet with a built-in or included fridge ships with a fridge sized and vented for that cabinet, like the Aauro Home 31.5-inch cabinet with its 92-liter fridge.

Where should a mini fridge go on a coffee bar?

Next to the coffee bar is the easiest spot, because the fridge gets air on every side. Under the counter works with a front-vent fridge or an open-back bay. Avoid boxing a rear-vent fridge into a closed bay.

What should I keep in a coffee bar fridge?

Milk, half-and-half, creamer, cold brew and whipped cream are the core. Keep the fridge at 40°F or below, which is the FDA's recommendation, and use the door rack for a 2-liter bottle or a quart of milk.
